In 2003 Riemann-Zurneck and Iken identified and described shallow-water corallimorpharian from Antarctic Peninsula as Corallimorphus profundus. The record was unusual and surprising - Corallimorphus profundus is an abyssal species living at great depths and it has tentacles distributed not only on margin (=marginal tentacles) but also on the disc (=discal tentacles). In 2011 one of us (Dirk Schories) rediscovered shallow water Corallimorphus species on about 40 m at King George Island (Antarctica). We examined this material and confirmed that it is specifically distinct from the true deep-water Corallimorphus profundus, which, actually has little in common with the shallow-water Corallimorphus species. A species on the photo from relatively shallow waters of Antarctic Peninsula was redescribed as a new species in our paper on Antarctic anemones published in 2015 (click link below for full text pdf):
